Chenyue is awarded the Waksman Undergraduate Fellowship Award (WURF)

Chenyue was awarded the Waksman Undergraduate Fellowship Award (WURF) and will be investigating intra-PI research connectivity by using the neuro-tracing tools in this program, such as BacTrace(retrograde) and Trans-tango(anterograde). Congratulations Chenyue!

Dr. Barber wins New Jersey Commission on Brain Injury Research pilot award !

The lab was awarded a New Jersey Commission on Brain Injury Research pilot award to work on fruit fly traumatic brain injury models! Dr. Barber is “incredibly proud of the staff scientist + undergraduate team that got this completely new research direction launched in a pandemic.” Congratulations!

At the first Barber lab new year party, we ate delicious Pakistani food and participated in a cookie decorating contest! It was a fun time and we look forward to another great year.

Congratulations to Naureen for becoming the labs first PhD candidate!

The Barber lab has it's first official PhD candidate! We are all extremely proud of Naureen’s accomplishment. Dr. Barber threw a special surprise party for Naureen with all of her closest friends. We are all very happy to have her in our team, congrats!!

1st annual Barber-Sehgal lab exchange

On a sunny day at Waksman, the Barber lab welcomed the Sehgal lab to the 1st annual lab exchange. The program included nine short data presentations, delicious biryani, malai kofta, and gulab jamun from Delhi garden for lunch, and snacks . An award was given for best use of memes in a presentation.

Sergio wins SACNAS travel award!

Sergio was awarded a fellowship to attend the 2021 National Diversity in STEM (NDiSTEM) Digital Conference. Congratulations!

Naureen is accepted into science policy program!

In CASE, Naureen will be taught about science communication and civic engagement, and she will have the opportunity to visit congress and talk to policy makers. Congratulations!
